Learnframe Press Release
Learnframe, NETg and TVU Assist Federal and State Governments in Achieving e-Learning Goals
Government Employees to receive training through a Learnframe Learning Center™

DRAPER, Utah – October 10, 2001 – Learnframe™, the leading developer of e-Learning infrastructure technologies, and NETg a premier content provider and member of the Thomson Learning family of companies together with Transportation Virtual University (TVU), an arm of the US Department of Transportation chartered to provide the government with web-based learning programs, today announced the completion of the Internet University Program.

Charged with the responsibility of implementing cost effective e-Learning solutions that can be globally accessed, TVU turned to Learnframe and NETg. The Internet University Program, the latest project undertaken by Learnframe, NETg and TVU, required the creation of a Learnframe Learning Center. A Learning Center consists of a catalog of educational courses/materials, an LMS to manage the catalog and student’s training plan, and an e-commerce storefront. Learnframe’s ability to quickly implement its superior technology allowed the Learning Center implementation to be completed within two weeks of TVU’s request.

“Learnframe is helping TVU fulfill their objectives in multiple projects by reducing the cost and increasing the value of training,” said Mike Memmott Sr., CEO and chairman of Learnframe. “Learnframe has proven successful in meeting TVU’s objectives and has the ability to address training needs at all levels of government.”

With TVU, Learnframe has added the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Graduate School, and the State of Washington Department of Personnel to its list of successful installations.

“The government spends millions of dollars each year on training with many trainees like the USDA graduate students requiring several years of instruction,” said Larry Mercier, program manager of TVU. “Federal, state and local governments have all recognized the growing need for more economical, integrated solutions—that’s why TVU was created. We have partnered with Learnframe and NETg to provide superior, cost effective instruction to these institutions.”

Learnframe and NETg formalized their relationship in December of 2000. This influential partnership has resulted in multiple large-scale projects requiring the industry leading expertise of both firms.”
